Wolf II

Auxiliary Cruiser Wolf II

DescriptionEdit

The former transport ship Wachtfels, built at the Flensburger Schiffbaugesellschaft shipyard in 1913, was commissioned as an auxiliary cruiser by the German Navy in May 1916. For the first time, a merchant raider carried a floatplane, a Friedrichshafen FF 33E called Wölfchen (little wolf), to extend its reconnaissance radius.
