Lord Clive

HMS Lord Clive

DescriptionEdit

With the land war coming to a standstill in most places and the Royal Navy dominating many waterways in the vicinity of the front lines, the need for floating heavy artillery close to the coastlines arose. By 1915, a class of eight monitors armed with 12" guns taken from decommissioned pre-dreadnought battleships were ready for service, named after British and French military leaders.
