Description[]
This brand of torpedoboats (Großes Torpedoboot 1906) was built on three different shipyards (Schichau, Vulcan and Germaniawerft), and the boats varied greatly in size and armament. Of the 59 boats built, only the first 21 had conventional triple-expansion engines, which gave them a speed of about three knots less than the more recent ones, which were fitted with turbines. The first batch comprised six boats, all built at the Vulcan shipyard in Stettin.
