Description[]
The destroyers of this class were built both for the Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian ships being known as the River class, as they were named after Australian rivers. They were very similar to the preceding Acorn class, but had a slightly enhanced speed and endurance. Their class is now known as the I class.
