HMS Erin

DescriptionEdit

This dreadnought was initially ordered by the government of the Ottoman Empire in 1911 under the name Reshadiye. She was modelled after the contemporary King George V class super-dreadnoughts, but adapted for the environment of the Mediterranean Sea and fitted with a 6" secondary battery. When the ship was due to be delivered, however, the war was about to break out, and so the British government was compelled to seize her, and she entered fleet service under the name HMS Erin.
