HMS Caroline

The follow-up to the Arethusa class was also designed for service in the North Sea, but larger and heavier armed, which moves them closer to the Town class. A new feature is the superfiring 6" gun on the aft deck, the gun mount right below is protected by a blast shield. The Caroline class became the first of a variety of sub-classes with no end in sight. All ships bear names starting with the letter C, which has lead to the designation of the Caroline and her cousins as C-class.
